On April 2nd, President Donald Trump announced staggering new tariffs on imports from dozens of countries that could raise the price of almost everything you buy.

These tariffs are in addition to the ones he imposed earlier this year on goods from some of the US’s biggest trade partners: Canada, Mexico, and China. Trump positioned those tariffs as a way to “halt the flood of poisonous drugs into the United States,” referring to fentanyl.
