Oasis fans just realising why dog is included in tour stage graphics | Music | Entertainment

Oasis fans are only just realising why a dog is included in the stage graphics for their world tour.

The rock band reunited for their first performance in 16 years on Friday, June 4 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff to kick off their Oasis Live ‘25 Tour. Fans were delighted to see Noel and Liam Gallagher come together and share heartwarming brotherly moments on stage, proving they have ended their longstanding feud.

However, while most people were probably looking at the band, an image of a dog called Buttons was displayed on the big screen behind them. Buttons was an abandoned dog saved by a sanctuary in Thailand, Happy Doggo, founded by Niall Harbison.

He put her up for adoption and the pooch was unexpectedly taken in by Oasis’ lead vocalist Liam Gallagher and his partner Debbie two years ago. Buttons was given a new home in the UK and has become a much-loved member of the family.

Liam’s love for Buttons is clear as she has made it to the big screens of Oasis’ gigs. Harbison shared a post on social media platform X to give more details about the touching story.

He explained that Buttons was a small puppy who walked into his sanctuary in Thailand in the middle of the jungle just as it was getting built and it was noticeable that she had been abandoned as she “kept coming back daily for food and hoping for company”. Harbison eventually took her in and put her up for adoption.

The dog rescuer added: “Little did I know but Liam and his partner Debbie had been following. After a long process she was adopted to them in the UK.

“Buttons has grown into a beloved member of the family and landed on her paws.” Liam has been very supportive of Happy Doggo and donated his globe from the last tour to raise funds, Harbison revealed.

He noted: “I don’t think Buttons realises her dad is a rock star. She just loves her humans.” The Happy Doggo founder believes the pooch “set out to make herself a better life by sneaking into our sanctuary” and she definitely achieved that.

Harbison ended: “So if you are wondering why there is a dog on the @oasis screens now you know. Well done Buttons. I think you can say you’ve made it when your dad has you on the big screen.”

Liam has shared photos of Buttons on his Instagram showing how much she has grown and how well she has settled into her new home.

Oasis fans were moved by the “rags to riches story” and many commented on Harbison’s post. One said: “I love Oasis and Liam, just a little bit more. How cute it was to have Buttons in the imagery.”

Another added: “Buttons is blessed and living the best life that every dog just wishes to have. I’m surprised many more dogs haven’t found their way to the land.”

A third commented: “Buttons! She literally walked into your life, and Liam’s! Getting the word out, one concert at a time. Love it!”

A fourth chimed in: “From abandoned and hoping for food and company to being on stage and a rock star! So happy that you helped Buttons find the life she deserves!”
