Dyson was one of the first brands to kick off its Black Friday sale early. Starting in October, the deals initially focused on household appliances, but shoppers waiting for its much-coveted – but undeniably pricey – haircare tools to drop in price are in luck – we’ve found a great deal on its techy Supersonic Nural hair dryer, which is cut from £399 to £299.
There are offers on a few hairdryers, but the biggest discount on Dyson’s own website is on the distinctive “vinca blue and topaz” colour that’s only sold via Dyson, reports The Mirror.
Shoppers get five attachments: a diffuser and a wide-tooth comb attachment designed for styling natural, wavy, or curly hair; a styling concentrator for those who prefer smooth blowouts, and for finishing touches there’s an attachment designed to tame pesky flyaways. The fifth tool is what Dyson calls a “gentle air attachment”, which disperses air to protect the scalp.
There are three airflow settings and four heat settings: 100°C for fast drying and styling, 80°C for regular drying, 60°C for gentle drying and diffusing, and 28°C, a cold mode to help you set your style.
An upgrade on the original popular Supersonic dryer, the Nural has sensors that help it auto-adapt to a user’s preferred settings, which the brand says helps hair dry quickly and efficiently while avoiding heat damage. It also has a ‘scalp protect mode’ that automatically adjusts temperature to help retain moisture on the scalp.
One happy customer said: “This hairdryer is a super-duper bit of kit. It does just what you want, adjusting heat without you even having to think about it. It’s stylish, compact, lightweight, balanced in the hand, and quiet.”
The hair dryer has proved popular with curly-haired shoppers. One wrote: “My curls were even more bouncy and full of life. It also didn’t take as long to dry my hair as I was able to get close to my scalp!”
Another shopper with fine, short hair wrote that they use it “to give my hair oomph from wet to dry. It’s a great feature for me, as it’s lightweight and powerful at the same time”.
Many reviews have praised it for scalp and hair health: “I’m 79, and my hair is getting thinner; the technology is amazing. It really does what it’s guaranteed to do, protect your scalp,” wrote one.
Some shoppers, however, said that they found the multiple settings a little tricky to navigate. Considering this, the Supersonic Nural may not be suitable for individuals accustomed to more traditional hair dryers. For anyone who would prefer a different colour, Argos currently has a turquoise version of the same tool, also at £299.
