Hot drink that slashes inflammation | Personal Finance | Finance

A popular tea can help keep your skin youthful and healthy by encouraging your body to produce collagen while also cutting inflammation. White tea is one of the least processed teas, with a sweet and floral taste, made using the youngest buds of the Camellia sinensis plant.

This allows it to retain a large amount of antioxidants, which can help prevent free radicals that are responsible for the sking aging. White tea also promotes collagen and elastin production, which are essential elements for maintaining skin firmness and elasticity, reports ABC.

The drink also has lower caffeine than other teas such as black tea or green tea, though the amount of caffeine per cup can vary.

You may want to try having a cup of white tea each day, such as in the morning or mid-afternoon. The drink’s high antioxident content will help with blood circulation and to strengthen the immune system.

Its anti-inflammatory properties can also promote your skin health, by reducing redness and skin irritation. Many major tea brands offer white tea, including Twinings and Clipper, with major supermarkets such as Tesco and Morrisons offering the drink.

When making white tea, you may want to try loose leaves instead of bags to get a higher concentration of antioxidants. It is best to heat the water to around 75 to 80C rather than boiling water, which can alter the tea’s properties and give it a bitter taste.

You can improve the antioxidant absorption by adding a few drops of lemon, or you can put in some honey if you want to add some natural sweetness.

Studies have also found that white tea is rich in catechins, which may help towards weight loss.

Some variants of white tea you may want to try include:

  • Moonlight
  • Silver Needle
  • White Peony
  • Tribute Eyebrow
  • Long Life Eyebrow.
