Dust will ‘disappear’ from radiators if you add item to vacuum

Cleaning your home can be a big and often gruelling task, espeically if you’re getting ready to clean up areas that often get neglected in your normal day to day.

We already have so much on our plates when it comes to keeping our houses clean and tidy, and this means many of us forget to do some of the tasks which aren’t immediately obvious. After all, out of sight out of mind, right?

One of the tasks that often gets forgotten about is cleaning our radiators. While most of use will use them almost daily in the colder months to warm up our homes, they often sit neglected for the rest of the year, which often leads to a buildup of dust and dirt.

However, one self-confessed ‘queen of cleaning’ named Lynsey has shared her easy hack on how to make your radiators dust-free in minutes by adding a household item to your vacuum.

“When was the last time you removed your radiator cover and cleaned behind it? This is a job I like to do a few times a year,” she said at the start of her TikTok video.

She then went on to share her go-to way of cleaning her radiators with ease, and all you have to do is adding one thing to the end of your vacuum.

“I had an old box of tumble dryer sheets, so I used one over my vacuum nozzle to pick up even more dust,” she revealed to her 149,700 TikTok followers.

While it might sound counterintuitive to cover up the end of your vacuum, she went on to explain that the added static that the dryer sheet adds helps to grab all of the dirt and dust.

“It was so dusty back there, and honestly seeing how much I collected was so satisfying,” she said as she showed the now-black dryer sheet, explaining dust had clumped on the wall behind the radiator as well as on the inside of the radiator cover.

This wasn’t all, as Lynsey then went on to give the radiator cover a cleaning as well with the vacuum to remove most of the dust.

“After vacuuming, I wiped everything down with warm soapy water, and just look at the dust that settles on the knobs,” she said as she wiped the dust off with a cloth, showing just how much dirt that had been hiding in plain sight.

“If you suffer from allergies, dust could be lurking in places you don’t even see,” she said at the end of the video.

People quickly flocked to the comment section of the video to praise Lynsey for her genious tip. However, most people were more impressed by her radiator covers.

“Wait, radiator covers exist and people acrually use it?” one perplexed viewer asked.

“Just get an air purifier,” another person argued, claiming it’s easier to clean than the radiator.
