Celebrity chef slams Meghan Markle’s Netflix show as a ‘failure’ | Royal | News

“The show has been a failure on multiple levels, with such low viewership numbers that most other programs would have been cancelled by now,” the celebrity chef said.

“Given the heavy media coverage and the high-profile billboards in Los Angeles and New York promoting the series, along with paid media, it is truly embarrassing that it did not even make the top 300 Netflix shows this year.”

He went on to say that the figures highlight how little impact the programme has made with audiences.

Jameson added that the streaming giant made the right call when it renewed and restructured Meghan and Harry’s partnership with Netflix.

Earlier this month it was confirmed that the couple had signed a new multi-year deal, which will continue their collaboration through Archewell Productions.

At the time the Duke and Duchess said the agreement reflects their mission to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally.

Jameson said, “I believe Netflix made the right call moving her to a pay-per-show agreement, essentially a contract that says no more c**p as we won’t buy it.”

He continued to question Meghan’s creative direction and suggested her attempts to build a lifestyle brand through television have backfired.

“I believe she will keep pushing forward on television, but whether she chooses to slice fruit, create flower arrangements, or engage in similar b*****it is another question, it’s making a powerhouse of a company like Netflix look below average,” the chef slammed.
