Amazon cuts Nespresso coffee machine from £200 to £99

Coffee fans are in for a treat as Amazon’s Spring Sale includes a whopping 51% discount on a popular Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee Machine that comes with a milk frother. The sleek dark grey Nespresso machine usually costs £200, but can now be snapped up for £99. It has a 1.1L water tank and offers a variety of brew sizes and flavours, from espressos to iced coffees. 

The machine heats up in just 30 seconds, making it ideal for those rushed mornings when you’re desperate for a caffeine fix. In addition to the handy milk frother, the appliance also includes 12 complimentary welcome pods, allowing you to discover your ideal blend. However, it’s worth noting that this machine can only be used with specific pods, as one Amazon customer pointed out in the reviews section ‘it will only accept pods from Nespresso’.

The Nespresso coffee machine utilises the brand’s latest technology that scans the coffee pod’s barcode and automatically adjusts the brewing settings to deliver the perfect cup. Amazon’s Spring Sale offer of £99 makes the Nespresso gadget a more affordable option compared to similar devices on the market, such as the Breville One-Touch Espresso Coffee Machine which costs £150 at Argos.

This gadget has a water capacity of 1.4 litres and can make a variety of ‘professional-quality coffee’ from a single or double shot of espresso. It has an adjustable milk frother that can make ‘light and airy foam’ for cappuccinos, lattes and more. 

For shoppers looking for a cheaper alterantive, the L’OR Barista Sublime with Milk Frother is currently on sale for £89.99, down from £221.96. This appliance can make two cups of coffee at once and is compatible with capsules from L’OR, Nespresso and other brands.

Unlike similar alternatives, the Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee Machine offers Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to pair it with their smartphones and use the Nespresso app for software updates and descaling notifications. The appliance has received over 1,400 reviews on Amazon, earning a respectable average rating of four stars.

A thrilled customer commented: “Best coffee machine. It is bigger than expected but looks good and makes coffee quickly. Easy to use and the milk frother is excellent. It also comes with a selection of capsules so you can get started straight away.”

A second wrote: “I really like that there are lots of different pod sizes and flavours/types of coffee. Mine came with a large pack of mixed coffees to try and I also sent for extra free ones too… The coffee tastes so good. I’m no expert but I don’t actually need to go out for coffee anymore because this is just as good. I have tried different recipes using a milk frother but you can use it just with normal milk as it does turn it a little frothy anyway. It’s good if you are vegan as you can use any milk you want.”

Unfortunately one Amazon buyer wasn’t completely satisfied, as they explained: “I’ve had the machine for around two months now and the coffee is decent enough, if a little expensive, but my main concern is that it’s not very warm. You have to drink the coffee immediately and even then it’s only tepid. I’m already looking for a replacement as this is far less than satisfactory.”

However, someone else was left impressed, as they said: “This has replaced my previous Nespresso and it is brilliant, makes a good cup of coffee.” Another added: “Easy to use. Makes delicious coffee. I am now a fully qualified Barista.”
