Fashion fans on the hunt for the perfect dress for winter – which can be dressed up for family gatherings, but is still casual and comfortable enough for mince pies and turkey sandwiches – can look to a colourful option from Weird Fish that is reduced by 50%.
The Shafika Organic Cotton Printed Jersey Dress in Night Blue will cost shoppers £25, reduced from the full price of £50. There are various colour options for shoppers too – like mulled wine, tan, twilight and leaf green, which are also reduced in the festive sale.
Made from organic cotton jersey, it falls cleanly over the body without clinging, while the green and navy print makes it a flattering all-rounder, and it comes in sizes eight through to 22.
The cotton dress has no fastenings, so is easy to pull on and the jersey fabric has some stretch too, perfect for wearing if a hearty festive meal is on the menu. It has three-quarter sleeves and an empire line on the chest area, so is flattering.
Made from 100% organic cotton, according to the brand, it can be machine washed at 30°. The deep blue and emerald green palette of the night blue colour option is forgiving and versatile, working well with camel, plum or dark brown.
For the colder months, shoppers can layer it under a long coat or over a fine roll-neck. During the day, it’s perfect with flat pumps and tights, or to dress it up, add a black leather belt to define the waist and switch to black ankle boots and tights.
Shoppers who love a print can also look to M&S, who have the Sosandar Jersey Jacquard Twist Front Midi Dress for £69. This dress comes in sizes six through to 20 and in a blue mix colour, is bright, but still offers cover for colder days thanks to long sleeves and a midi length.
Alternatively, Next has their Love & Roses Khaki Green Animal Print V-Neck Mini Dress for £46. This dress has a vibrant print, also coming in a colourful black tulip option, and in petite and regular sizing for shoppers. It has elasticated detailing and subtle frill detailing too for added texture on the top half.
Weird Fish shoppers have left plenty of feedback though, with one saying: “A lovely print in great quality cotton. Comfortable styling and good for wearing over leggings.”
Another customer loved the fabric, adding: “Lovely fabric and unusual colours. Fit was perfect. Looking forward to wearing over the festive season.”
A third fashion fan said: “Bought this dress for my cousin size 16. That impressed with quality bought one for myself.”
Some feedback from shoppers was around pockets, with one person saying: “Lovely fabric and a good fit. I would have given five stars, but there are no pockets!”. Another said: “Weird fish dresses never alter in their sizing, for which I am grateful. This dress can be dressed up if going somewhere special or left casual if staying home. Only thing missing are pockets.”
