French pharmacy brand RoC has launched a new anti-ageing product that offers an easy way to apply retinol. The RoC Derm Correxion Retinol Firming Serum Stick works to treat, tighten and lift skin, with a touchless application.
Available at Boots for £39.99, the beauty buy is a non-invasive solution for ageing skin. It can be applied on the face, neck and décolletage or hands with an easy swipe. The formula includes Tetrahydroxypropyl ethylenediamine (or short for THPE), an ingredient that is clinically proven to increase skin’s firmness by 90%.
Other powerhouse ingredients include antioxidants and the RoC Retinol – both contribute in visibly reducing the appearance of lines while smoothing and lifting the skin.
Eager beauty fans have expressed interest in trying the retinol serum stick, with one commenting on social media: “I love the idea of a stick.” A second said: “I got this recently and have just started using it. Too soon to see a big change but I do like it.”
Some were curious to know the percentage of retinol used in the serum stick, to which RoC replied: “The percentage of retinol doesn’t tell you how potent a product is or how well it works. The amount of retinol in over-the-counter products will vary greatly depending on what type of retinol is in the formula.”
Another shopper noted: “This looks super handy for travel with the liquid restrictions.”
Other than RoC, shoppers can also buy a similar product from LookFantastic – Clinique Smart Clinical Repair AM/PM Retinoid Balm and is now reduced to £23.20 from £29. The lip balm-like skincare is powered by a rich blend of 1% advanced retinoid and hyaluronic acid to intensely hydrate and nourish the skin to reduce the look of fine lines.
Meanwhile, shoppers who spend £70 or more on Melumé Skinscience at Face the Future can receive a Time Release Micro-Encapsulated Retinol Stick – worth £69 – for free. It aims to soften wrinkles and smooth texture of the skin, providing instant relief for dry rough areas while balancing enlarged pores, pigmentation, and UV-induced spots.
RoC has been perfecting this retinol formula for more than 27 years with over 100 clinical studies, 75 safety studies, and 35 patients. But not everyone is convinced as a shopper commented on Amazon: “I can’t decide if this makes a difference or not. Initially I thought I felt an improvement in chest creases and neck lines, but after continued use I’m not convinced.”
Another noticed an issue when applying makeup: “Nice texture, a little goes a long way. The only issue I had was that when applying concealer over it, it pills considerably, which is a bit annoying. Don’t think I’d buy it again just for that reason.”
But some said it takes about three months to see a visible improvement. “I would class this now as my number one for improvements on lines and I have some deep lines, so happy with product, the stick does make a difference in the morning. Use only on the lines so the product lasts longer,” a customer noted.
A second wrote: “This has made such a big difference in the look of my hands.” The RoC Derm Correxion Retinol Firming Serum Stick is available at Boots for £39.99.
